Board Profile: The Northeast Georgia Regional Commission, located in Athens, is one of twelve state-wide regional commissions, created to be a focal point for regional issues concerning local government and to be a resource for those governments in a variety of specialized areas including government planning, economic development, grant preparation, job training, and aging services. This agency serves 12 Northeast Georgia counties including Barrow County and 54 municipalities.
